Dear KO4G,
My name is Lulu and I would really like it if you could help my sisters and me have a Thanksgiving dinner. Our mom works very hard and it would make us so happy if she didn't have to worry about the dinner this year. She is a great mom and I don't want her to be always worried about money.
Thank you KnockOuts,
Lulu |
THANK YOU!
Thank you KnockOut Erika (our Director of Make a Little Girl Smile Program) for providing Lulu's family with all of the ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner!

Dear KO4G,
I have a 6- year old daughter named Ashley. We are currently living in a homless shelter, scheduled to move out on September, 18th 2009.
I work full time and Ashley goes to daycare.
I have finally saved enough money for us to move into an apartment. My wish is to provide a stable and secure environment for my daughter, so she can be secure in her own home.
My daughter is very caring and kind. She is very excited to return to school next week.
My concern is that I am having to utilize all my financial resources to get us a home and I do not have enough money to get Ashley some school clothes, shoes and a back pack so she could start the year with all she needs.
I am hoping you can help me with this.
Thank you for your time and please let me know if you can help us.
Sincerely,
Ashley’s Mom |
THANK YOU!
KnockOut Kandyce for taking Ashley shopping for school clothes! Ashley is happy to have some new clothes for school and her mom was incredibly appreciative.

Dear KO4G,
I came across this posting on Craigslist and my heart almost broke in two. I am seeking employment and am pretty down and out myself but I was hoping your great organization could help:
I’m a single mom living in a motel with my two kids. My daughter turns 5 in a couple days and I’d like to do something for her bday. She said she doesn’t care and she loves me no matter what but I really want to do something for her. I’m working two jobs but can barely make ends meet. Can anyone help? |
THANK YOU!
KnockOuts Nina and Pattianna for taking Ashley to Build a bear for her 5th Birthday! She smiled from ear to ear the entire time and her family was incredibly grateful.

Dear KO4G,
My daughter Fatima is being graduating from 6th grade and they will be having a ceremony at her school. She is a very good student and a kind girl and I would like to buy her a dress and shoes that she can wear on this special day. Her father is out of work and we can not afford to buy anything. Can you help? |
THANK YOU!
Thank You KnockOut Erika (our Director of Make a Little Girl Smile Program) for making Fatima SMILE! KnockOuts For Girls donated the money and Erika took Fatima shopping for a dress, shoes and a shawl and Erika attended the graduation. All of Fatima’s teachers told Erika what a great student Fatima is and how happy they were that we were able to make her smile.

Dear KO4G,
My name is Jessica and I am the mother of Jennifer. My girl is 8 years old and has a twin, Jeremy. She was born first and he came 3 minutes later. I think and believe that my children are a miracle. They were born prematurely and it was very difficult, but they made it!
My daughter is a wonderful girl. She is an excellent student and a kind child. She is the best daughter I could have. She is also a great sister to Jeremy. The two of them are very close and she always takes care of him. He was born with a problem in his ear and so far he’s had five reconstructive surgeries. The surgeries have been difficult and painful and Jennifer has always been there loving and supporting her brother.
When I asked my daugther what she wanted for her birthday, she said she wanted to go to Disneyland and buy a Mickey doll. She said she wanted to go there and have Mickey, Mimi, Pluto and Donald hug her. I do not have the financial resources to take her.
Their father left them and I do everything I can to try to fill that void in their lives. My hope is that when they grow up, they will only remember the good times and not the sad moments we’ve been through. I would like to see my kids smile, and I would like to tell them that dreams do come true, and that they should always dream.
If you could help me fulfill this dream for my daughter I would be forever grateful.
May God bless you. You are wonderful women. May God give you more of what you aready have because you have wonderful hearts full of kindness. You are the kind of women I want my daughter to look up to.
Thank you for reading my letter. It was written from my heart. Thank you for your time and for doing good in the world.
God Bless you.

Dear KO4G,
I was forwarded an email from one of my co-workers regarding your new program granting wishes to underprivileged girls. The parent of one of my students came by to see me last week looking for assistance in obtaining an eye exam and glasses for her 17 year old daughter. This student, Antonia, does not have Medical and comes from a single-parent family and her mother is not currently working. Therefore, there is significant need.
If you could be of help, please contact me so that I can provide you with all the necessary information. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Denise Baldonado, School Counselor
Belmont High School |

Dear KO4G,
I work at the Boys & Girls Club in Venice, where you teach the free boxing lessons to little girls. There is a little girl who comes here almost daily and participates in your classes whom I think could benefit greatly from a day of fun with some of your KnockOuts. It doesn’t have to be anything too fancy, but her birthday is coming up and she’s just a great kid. Her family struggles financially and I know they’d be very grateful if you could do something special for her.
Sincerely,
Dolores |
THANK YOU!
KnockOuts Lydia Castro and Lydia Callins for making Marianne smile! Lydia Castro, Lydia Callins and KO4G president Pattianna Harootian pitched in to take Marianne and her family to the LA Zoo! They also treated them to lunch, snacks and gifts and everyone had a wonderful day.

Dear KO4G,
My daughter is 8 years old and in the third grade. Her and her older brother are both autistic. My daughter doesn't really understand that she's autistic but knows she's different from her classmates and she very badly wants to be like the other kids. She is always smiling and just a joy to be around and I would love to be able to get her more individualized help, especially with her academics, but we can not afford it. What would make her smile would be if she felt like she fit in more. I think that with more help and assistance, she will be able to relate better to other boys and girls her age. Any type of after school program catered to children with autism or individual tutoring by someone who has experience working with children with autism would be very helpful.
Sincerely,
Her Loving Mother |
THANK YOU!
KnockOut Sarah Valentino for making this little girl smile! Sarah meets once a month to read with this Little KnockOut, focusing on her reading comprehension. Sarah also lobbied for months to get this Little KnockOut a 2 -year scholarship to a school for children with special needs!

Dear KO4G,
I teach the boxing lessons for KO4G at the Boys & Girls Club in Venice and there is a girl who comes each week, Mercedes, whom I think deserves a special day, possibly a one on one with one of our KnockOuts. She’s a very hard worker and extremely sweet and polite. She’s had some tough times this past year and it’d be great if we could do something special for her.
Sincerley,
Christie Abbott |
THANK YOU!
Armen and Pauline Harootian for making Mercedes smile! Armen and Pauline donated money to pay for a day at the Santa Monica Pier for Mercedes and KO4G President Pattianna. Mercedes got to go on all the rides, play several of the games, win a prize, purchase a t-shirt and some souvenirs and have lunch and snacks!
